This is for sure a excellent spot to get away from all city noises and relax a little. It looks a little dirty during this time of the year, with all the plants starting to rot, but it still manages to cativate you with an serene atmosphere. I was lucky I found a man who knew about duck types and he gave me a brief explanation. There's even eagles here during the summer he told me. The views are amazing and I'm sure the sunset looks incredible there as well even though I left too early to see it. A must go for those who like to wander in thought.
Love this park. Awesome place for a stroll at sunset, with wide-open skies, flocks of birds, and views of the NYC skyline. Miles of walking trails, mostly cinder paths or boardwalks along/over the water. Gets breezy along the water - pleasant in the summer, but bring one more layer than you think you need. Plenty of free parking. There's also an observatory with free public nights on Wednesdays.
Cool place. Hidden gem with great views of NYC.
An environmental park on the landfill. If you are interested in preservation of salt marsh, come to this place. It is a good place for education on the environment. Easy trails for children and the elderly.
Cool place to check out some wildlife. Short loop trail around the marshes of the meadowlands.
